COLUMBUS—The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio issued a statement in response to the refusal of New Albany High School to permit a student chapter of Amnesty International after receiving complaints about a poster promoting the club.
AKRON—Akron City Council voted unanimously Monday night to repeal the city’s anti-panhandling ordinance in response to a lawsuit brought by the ACLU of Ohio. The law targeted panhandling by requiring people to register with the city and restricted the activity to certain hours and locations.
