The ACLU of Ohio is committed to training, educating, and mentoring the next generation of civil libertarians, civil rights advocates, and racial justice warriors. Opportunities for formal internships at our affiliate are currently available for college undergraduate and graduate level students. The ACLU of Ohio compensates all interns at a rate of $17 per hour, for no more than 20 hours per week. Students are eligible to receive both monetary compensation and class credit provided the academic institution permits both. High school graduates not currently enrolled in college classes are also eligible to apply for internships with our affiliate. Unfortunately, current high school students are not eligible for ACLU of Ohio internships, but everyone is welcome to volunteer with us or join our Action Team!

Policy & Advocacy Department:
The ACLU of Ohio Policy & Advocacy Team is seeking two graduate-level interns / placements to be based in either Cleveland or Columbus beginning August 2025 and running through at least April 2026. A minimum of 15 hours per week is required for consideration.
Administration, Communications, Development, and Technology Departments:
2025 Intern positions have been filled. No additional intern slots are anticipated. Please check back in 2026.
Legal Department:
The ACLU of Ohio is not seeking law clerks. We do not anticipate hiring law clerks in the foreseeable future.
