Nicole Curet has more than 20 years’ experience working in the non-profit sector, most recently serving as the Director of Fund Development for the Akron Urban League. Prior to that, Nicole served in development and leadership roles for Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, Leadership Stark County and Domestic Violence Project, Inc. A student of the University of Akron, Nicole’s background is in Psychology and she served as a minister within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for more than a decade.
As a child, Nicole noticed very early the inequities in the world around her. She spoke up often and dreamed of being a lawyer to protect those who could not speak for themselves. As she got older her dream changed but the goal still remained the same. In the development space, Nicole is able to directly impact the work of the ACLU by helping secure the finances necessary to advance the mission. Working with donors to find their philanthropic path is her favorite part of development.
In the late 90’s Nicole put an ACLU sticker on her favorite clipboard because she knew the mission was important and thought maybe she would be a part of it one day. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as the Senior Development Officer for ACLU of Ohio.
When not at work, Nicole enjoys spending time with friends, seeing live music and art, cooking, traveling, and experiencing the world with her family. Nicole resides in northeast Ohio with her husband and four children.
