We are proud to present The ACLU of Ohio Voter Impact Fund, created to support critical electoral work that the ACLU of Ohio will lead and engage with for years to come. These c4 dollars will be exclusively used for our highly impactful work leading towards passage of statewide and local ballot measures as well as for voter education and engagement on issues and candidates up and down the ballot.
The ACLU of Ohio Voter Impact Fund, created in December 2024, is funded by invitation only, to donors with an interest in supporting these specific areas of political work. The Fund became necessary due to the passage of Ohio H.B. 1, a highly restrictive and punitive campaign finance law in the summer of 2024. This law, which came into effect September 1, 2024, requires that organizations like the ACLU verify that funding for electoral work come only from individuals and entities who have attested to their U.S. Citizenship.
As leader of not one, but TWO winning ballot measures in 2023, it is necessary that the ACLU of Ohio remain a leader in campaign and political engagement. The ACLU of Ohio Voter Impact Fund will be our primary source of funds to ensure that we can lead, and remain involved, in these critically important initiatives. Please consider being a seed funder for this highly impactful work – the ACLU of Ohio will not be sidelined while fighting to protect and expand the rights of Ohioans.
The ACLU of Ohio is nonpartisan, and does not endorse or oppose candidates. But our unique role empowers us to push for pro-civil liberties initiatives in our state, via ballot measures or through voter education on candidate positions. "The Battle for Ohio" is a short documentary chronicling the ACLU of Ohio's hugely impactful work in 2023 to enshrine abortion rights into the state constitution, while simultaneously protecting citizens' direct access to ballot referendums.
