The ACLU of Ohio, the ACLU, and Covington & Burling LLP filed a lawsuit today challenging Senate Bill 258, which establishes new congressional districts for Ohio, giving Republicans an unconstitutional partisan advantage.
Today the Fair Districts Coalition issued a letter calling on Governor DeWine to veto Substitute Senate Bill 258. The Congressional map created by the bill is a classic gerrymander.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The ACLU of Ohio, the American Civil Liberties Union, and Covington & Burling LLP filed a lawsuit today in Ohio Supreme Court challenging Ohio’s newly drawn maps for state House and Senate districts that give extreme and unfair advantage to the Republican Party.
“Unfortunately, this proposed map does not uphold the letter or the spirit of reform that 70% of Ohioans voted for in 2015."
This week the ACLU of Ohio placed a billboard advertisement in Capital Square with a bleak reminder: “For Every FIVE People the State of Ohio Has Executed, ONE Person Has Been Found Innocent.”
