Ohio General Assembly Passes Patriot Act

COLUMBUS– Yesterday, in the final hours before the holiday recess, the Ohio General Assembly voted to pass the Ohio Patriot Act. The bill has come under intense criticism from civil liberties groups, immigrant rights advocates, and conservative organizations.

ACLU Victorious in Bush/Cheney Political Sign Case

HUDSON, OH– The Fifth District Court of Appeals ruled yesterday that an ordinance restricting the size of political signs in the City of Hudson was unconstitutional. The ACLU of Ohio brought the case on behalf of Karen Arshnikoff, whose husband Alex is Chairman of the Summit County GOP.
